A few weeks ago I spent my week eating my way through Carmel, Indiana. I flew up to Carmel for work. My co-workers on my team work remotely from several different locations around the U.S. so we all gathered in Indy to come together to share ideas. Well, that and eat!
Eating my way through Carmel Day 3 and I had finally made it to the home stretch. Last full day we were in Indy. Full and satisfied belly, but man I was ready to get home. I had 1 full meal before I slept (and breakfast).
Friday was a normal work day, however the hours were slightly different and ending earlier than usual. Because work was ending earlier than normal we really didn’t have a lunch break. They were kind of enough to order Panera for us.
The ding of the very last incoming support ticket and it was time for our very last dinner together in Carmel. We went to a place called Mitchell’s Fish Market. I believe it is a chain, but it was a very nice dinner.
I started off the evening with a nice glass of wine…or two. I do love a good cabernet. I’m a red girl through and through. What can I say!
I ordered the Hoisin Glazed Tuna. My stomach was faster than my picture taking skills, but it was very delicious. I would absolutely order it again and highly recommend it. It was a wonderful dinner and a good last gathering before going our separate ways. My biggest regret is not snapping a picture of this beautiful dish. Not only was it beautifully presented, but it was very delicious.
I may have worked a little. I guess that is why I came to Indy in the first place, but let’s be real here that eating my way through Carmel took center stage.
Eating my way through Carmel day 3 was complete and full heart and belly I fell fast asleep. It had been a good trip, actually better than I thought, but I’m a homebody and I am always ready to be in my own bed, snuggling with my sweet fur baby. I mean look at that sweet face down below.
I woke up very early Saturday morning. I suspect it was my excitement to get back home. Needless to say, I had plenty of time to kill before we were to all meet in the lobby to drive to the airport. A fellow Indy office mate had mentioned to me the day before the Carmel Farmers market. So I ordered a Lyft and headed to the Carmel Winter Farmers Market. It was a great last minute trip and I got to experience a very hearty breakfast. The hotel breakfast was not bad. It was standard, but you can only take so much of a standard breakfast or as my family likes to say, pedestrian. The breakfast was pedestrian, but got the job done.
The Carmel winter farmers market is very small, but everyone was so friendly and I could tell immediately there was a great sense of community. I enjoyed my morning trip and I would definitely recommend stopping by either the winter or regular farmers market if you find yourself in Carmel, Indiana.
I hope you enjoy some of the pics I took at the local winter farmers market in Carmel:
My last walk around the winters farmer market I grabbed a very hearty and delicious breakfast at Josh’s Hot Breakfast. So good. He was so friendly and he also has a startup food truck. If you are in Indy for any reason definitely look up his food truck. You will not regret it!
Breakfast was so good and hearty, it lasted me all day. I finally ate dunch (lunch + dinner) around 4 pm when I arrived back in Atlanta.
And just like that it was time to say goodbye to Indy. Thank you for feeding me well. Until next time, adieu.
