DIY Spooky Tree

Some days luck finds you and a project just lands in your neighbor’s yard trash pile. Driving to breakfast a few Sundays ago, I found one of those willow looking trees that was once a floor light fixture, but now broken and discarded. Luck? Fate? The project gods smiling down upon me? I didn’t question it. I just knew I had to stop and load it up in my car. It was clear to me from the start that the poor thing must be saved and become a beautiful DIY spooky tree.

My vision was clear. I mean look at it… It could not be anything other than a diy spooky tree, right? Tell me you see it too!

Clear vision, full belly, couldn’t lose. I headed to my local Ace Hardware and Dollar Tree stores to pick up all the goods to transform this poor thing into its spooktakular potential. I am not sponsored by either of these 2 stores, but they are definitely now my go-to stores for supplies and decor items. I’ll be honest and say I’ve been sleeping on Dollar Tree, but you guys they have the goods. If you are looking for decor items or decor you can transform that is easy on the pocketbook, Dollar Tree got you! I’m a new believer. I have found so much great stuff lately.

I spray painted the tree black. For pete’s sake, what other color goes with spooky! For decorative items Dollar Tree really came through. I purchased several clip-on bats, spiders, and flowers that really brought this diy spooky tree to life. Spray painting and clip-ons… How much easier could it get? I did add a base as a final measure to allow it to stand on its own, but top down one of the most fun and easiest DIY’s ever completed!
